What Have I Been Doing?

Since the beginning of this year until now I'm happy to announce that I have made a ton of books, have learned a few things, and am more competent and confident than this time last year. Yea!

First, the ton of books should be taken figuratively, not literally. I think I made about 15 unique and individual books plus an edition of five or so. But the main point is, I'm practicing, learning, and expanding my horizons.

To this point I should point out I've learned multi-needle sewing, using a saw to open the needle holes - stations, if you will - learned to bind a dos-a-dos book, and made a very long bilingual accordion book. My sewing has gotten a lot better and quicker and I've learned to case in much more efficiently. Ah, also, I made my first medieval binding; the kind with the bumps on the spine that has been bent and shaped into a mushroom.

And wrote a novel. Thanks for dropping by after such a long time. If you want more about thus bookbinding journey, slip over to http://tedorigawabookmakers.podbean.com for both me talking, some audio drama, and photos. See you there. And here, too!

The photos are of some books I bound plus the partial cover of a novel.
